Giving Back to Her Alma Mater
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also highlighted her ongoing commitment to education, particularly her alma mater,
Federal Government College Idoani in Ondo State. On Monday, she returned to the school, where she once served as Head Girl in 1997, to facilitate the implementation of legacy projects aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure.
She announced plans for significant improvements, including:
- 2000-seat capacity auditorium
- 500-seat capacity multipurpose hall
- 10 staff quarters
- 300 solar streetlights
- 50,000 litres solar-powered water system
These initiatives, expected to be completed next year, reflect her dedication to improving facilities for current and future students, ensuring a lasting impact on the school community.
Gratitude Over Politics
Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that her contributions are driven by gratitude rather than political motives. She reflected on the formative role the school played in shaping her discipline, character, and leadership skills.
She stated:
“FGC Idoani nurtured my character, discipline, and leadership; thus, giving back to my alma mater isn’t politics, it’s gratitude.”
